I have a quote of $9,870 for the installation of a natural gas boiler to replace an existing 40+ year old boiler that will provide heat and hot water.
Here are the details of what is included in the quote:
* WEIL MCLAIN model Ultra 80 High Efficiency Gas Boiler (93 0- 98% AFUE)
* WEIL MCLAIN model Ultra Plus 40 Indirect Fired Water Heater
* TACO 2 zone control panel
* TACO 007 zone circulators
* Piping from new boiler to existing heating zones
* Gas piping from new boiler to existing main
* Intake and exhaust piping through sidewall
* Backflow preventer, fill valve, expansion tank, air seperator
* Honeywell zone thermostats
* Electrical wiring
* Remove and dispose of old unit
* Run and test operation of system
* Five years parts and labor warranty
There are two zones, one upstairs, one downstairs in this condo unit. I’d like to know whether this quote sounds reasonable or on the high side.
